And not to mention, I was stuck between the Vintage Sunburst and the Cherry Sunburst for a good hour in Tokyo. Like I knew I'm walking out of Ishibashi with a 50s Les Paul that day, I just couldn't decide on a colour. Going with Cherry Sunburst felt like going for the iconic design that makes the Les Paul so famous in the first place.
Now with stainless steel frets, the shine is never fading away, at least not in the near future. After a setup by the luthier, this guitar plays like a dream. The unmistakeable sound of a Les Paul is so damn nice. It almost makes me wanna get another Les Paul in yet another upcoming trip to Japan.
But ok no, I am going there this time to fetch a Fender Ultra II Stratocaster back. I desperately need a workhorse Stratocaster already.
I mean, yes, this gold Squier Stratocaster with maple fretboard looks nice, but it's far from a vintage colour. After holding the vintage-accurate Cherry Sunburst Les Paul, I want a Vintage Sunburst Stratocaster even more now. For this Squier Stratocaster, if I cannot sell it for the right price, I'll keep it at home for decoration. LOL.
But back to my Gibson, I just love how the sunlight reflects through the flames on the top of this guitar. I could stare at these flametops all day long man. These pictures make for some pretty aesthetic phone wallpapers.
And now for the video emoji in the title. I recorded not one, but two covers last night. Was contemplating on adding the other guitars into the cover but I really have no feels to jam on the Squier Stratocaster, and my acoustic is in desperate need of a string change.
Run by Hillsong is a really fast-paced and simple song to play. Very addictive beat and riffs. I could totally see myself playing this on stage one day again. Perhaps I shall return to church in June when I start my full-time job.
But for the time being, I shall enjoy my remaining 2 weeks of university life as well as the upcoming 2 months of land journey to China and the surrounding countries. How time flies!! I could have sworn university just started yesterday and here I am nearing the end of this season...
