🎵 Another eventful purchase at Swee Lee...

As much as I hate shopping at Swee Lee because of their overpriced sales, I know of nowhere else to get my gear. 😢 Simply speaking, Swee Lee can overprice their items because it is the only company in Singapore that carries tremendous amount of close-market music gears.

So I was trying to practise Sweet Child Of Mine, but every time I reached the solo, the wah was missing. Then I would stare at my wah pedal and wonder why I am not using it. Then I will remember, I don't have enough power cables to include the wah pedal into my signal chain. Of course, I have been hunting for the extra power cables on Carousell for a very long time, ever since I laid my hands on the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus. Sometimes, when I see others selling their power supplies, I would ask to just buy their power cables separately, and of course, they said no. I mean, I wouldn't too if I were them. Blame it all on the seller that sold this PP2+ to me; why did he lose most of the power cables?!?!?! 😭

Anyways, the only sensible option for me was to buy new ones. I knew all along that Swee Lee has stock, but that would be my last resort since it was quite overpriced. On 30th August 2016, I woke up early morning to start my hunt. Peninsula was my first destination, since there are easily more than 5 guitar shops there. The famous Davis guitar doesn't carry Voodoo Lab, neither does TY Music Centre nor Guitar Connection. I thought I ran into luck at SV Guitars, which I ended up mistaking a daisy chain for what I needed (the poor packaging was to blame here). After walking out of the store, I realised my mistake, but it was too late. So I immediately put it on Carousell to get rid of it (which I got rid of the next day at the original price). But I didn't stop there. A branch of Swee Lee is at Peninsula too, but they don't have stock at that branch. 😥

Well, after browsing through all of the guitar shops at Peninsula, I was disappointed. Fret not, next stop, Bras Basah Complex. When I reached Bras Basah, I headed straight to Ranking Music, but nothing there. Next was Guitar Workshop, but nothing there as well. Last was of course the main branch of Swee Lee, and all they told me was "Only the online shop has it." So this is what I meant by: I will still end up at Swee Lee no matter how hard to try to not go there. Evidently my hunt for my Squier Classic Vibe suffered the same fate. And so did my hunt for my Les Paul. You see, if only some other company would dare to be Swee Lee's rival would the prices change. Well, in the end, I ordered online and requested delivery to my house. Little did I know the complications that followed... 😳

So Swee Lee still doesn't know how to treat their loyal customers correctly. I have bought most my gear from Swee Lee, and they still can screw up my order. 30th August 2016, Tuesday, I placed my order. Wednesday they confirmed with me. Had to wait 3 days for the super duper slow delivery.

Okay, that was not the real problem. 3 days is nothing if I could stay in the comforts of my home and have my parcel delivered to me. The problem is, it's the wrong parcel. Yes, when I got home at night, I was so happy when I saw my parcel on my table. But when I picked it up, the weight gave it away. It felt nothing like 7 cables. It felt more like only 2 cables, and I was right. I ordered a $29.99 Voodoo Lab ISO-5 Standard Replacement Cable Pack but what I received was a $7.99 Voodoo Lab PPAY Voltage Double Adapter Cable.

My, was I fuming mad at that moment. I immediately emailed them but knowing it's a Saturday night and the next day was a Sunday, there is just now way I'm settling things straight away. Come Monday (today), they finally replied me and based on my angry tone in the email, I think they realised they might risk losing a loyal customer like me. So they rushed what seemed like a teenager to my house for the exchange. 🙄

From what I could deduce, that was the teenager who packed my parcel. He kept apologising for the inconvenience so that gave him away. I have worked for Zalora warehouse before and packed the wrong shipment before so I understand what it feels like. Forgave him for that because what matters is FINALLY I CAN TURN ON ALL MY PEDALS AT ONCE. Okay pardon that hype but the adrenaline rush is real. With the last pedal successfully plugged in and turned on, I felt like I'm on the top of the world (Idk if that even made sense) but yeah, the feeling's great. 😎 ⚡

Coming onto pedalboard version 1.10, I would be trying to mount my PP2+ below my PT2 Classic for the next few days since I have the mounting kit but no screws or drill. T_T But all is well, great things are coming! Stay tuned! And don't forget to only buy at Swee Lee when it is your last resort because...

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
