Life has been good so far. I have booked-out from Tekong over the last weekend for the first time since my BMT started and it felt so surreal to be at home again after 3 weeks of confinement. I wasted no time and brought out my gear for a little jamming session.
Strangely, my fretting fingers are not as tough as it was 3 weeks ago. After only 15 minutes of chording, I had to take a break. My fingertips hurts so much after so little playing; it's crazy what 3 weeks of no guitar can do to me. Alas, I still managed to push on.
Today is my birthday. As it's my duty to serve the country, I am spending it here on Pulau Tekong. Nevertheless, I have actually recorded a guitar cover over the weekend just for fun. Only posting it today because it's my birthday!!!!
This song is a rather simple song. The whole song is basically chording over 4 root notes: D A G B. I couldn't find much online material to learn the tougher parts of this song so I basically just recorded my own interpretation, which is simple chordings. No wonder no one really covers this song on YouTube; it's just too simple and boring!
As I don't have much free time these days, any kind of song will do fine for me. I used only 3 effects for this song since I don't have to switch styles at all. Basic SP Compressor to keep the tonal quality, OCD for the usual drive and HoF for the mild reverb. Super duper basic song, covered in less than an hour.
This might be the last video I can record with my Tribute Plus. I plan to sell it away as I am moving house soon and I can't keep so many guitars. There is just no space. I just hope I can fetch a good amount back for this guitar!
That's it for this super short post as I return back to the crazy island for training! Hope I still have enough energy in November to at least buy some new gear with the money I got from SAF. I still have my audio interface, bass and acoustic guitar to buy!
