It has been much too long since I recorded my last guitar cover in January. Basically the month of February was super hectic for me. The SAF driving course took up so much of my time and energy that simply playing my guitars at night are considered blessings. Today, I got a free off day due to me passing the driving test on the 3rd try.
And I wasted no time in using my off day to record a guitar cover. Recently acquired this new Fender Telecaster and today I got the chance to truly test its limits. The noiseless pickups are amazing and I can finally put some heavy distortion into those pickups and still sound quiet. Today's song choice is Break Free by Hillsong United, and it really requires a decent amount of drive.
Didn't get the chance to use my Prince of Tone today but that's fine. Used everything else except the Nano POG (got a feeling its going off my board soon due to under-usage). Explanations is in the picture itself (will be adapting this format so the explanations will never be lost with regards to the pictures).
Song itself is pretty easy to play. Classic intro riff rings throughout the song. 4 chords for the chorus and 3 for the part after 2nd chorus. A high pitched lick was heard for the interlude after the bridge (which I still classify as bridge). Great and fun song to play no less!
Took the chance to snap some beautiful pictures of my guitar collection because the weather is perfect today. Just the right amount of light shone through the windows! Looks beautiful the more I see this photo!
P.S. Recorded a mini cover before the cover of Break Free to test my Shure SM57's sound. Check out the short little acoustic fingerstyle riff here!
Looking forward to the next guitar cover on my list! Praise be to God!
