📌 The Far Future

Today is a special day for me. It is the first official day of my career, my possibly life-long career. With that in mind, I should get along with life well soon. I estimate that at around age 25, I will gather enough money to start pursuing my dreams. Talking about dreams will bring me to this post's main content.

Everyone has dreams. For me, I dream to be on the world stage playing my dream guitar. I have thought long and hard about my dream guitar. I have tried many guitars to see which styles I prefer. Finally, I think I'm close enough to my dream guitar's specifications.

This is as close to my dream guitar as I can find on Google. Yes, a 1969 Thinline Telecaster variation. I personally love Telecasters a lot. They sound super simple yet are so versatile. Especially Telecasters in Butterscotch Blonde, they melt me from the inside.

I have tried many guitars. One thing I know for sure: Weight is always an issue since I play on stage a lot. My shoulders will feel the burn every single time. My current Ash Telecaster isn't helping. I have tried going the semi-hollow route with Gretsch, but their neck profiles are too fat, and the body is too bulky. I still feel that somewhere, a hollow-body electric guitar is waiting for me.

Then there's the Thinline Telecaster, perfect! One day when I have enough money, I will look to custom builders to help me build my dream guitar. Maybe even Fender Custom Shop if I happen to find connections. Below are the specifications I wish my dream guitar consist (will be updating it as I expand my imagination):

The top half of my guitar is simple. The reason I kept my US Deluxe Strat is because of the compound radius (9.5" to 12"), silver inlay headstock logo and the Fender locking tuners. These 3 features are all I can ever ask for in a guitar neck. So for my dream guitar headstock and neck profile, it will be exactly the same as the picture above.

The neck will be a maple neck, if better a gloss maple on the front (a yellowish vintage look) and satin on the back, with a contoured neck heel. Fretwire will be stainless steel 6105, with the 12th fret dot as narrow spacing. The body wood of choice will be pine (light-weight) all around with a black Thinline pickguard covering it on top, as seen below.

Pickups will hopefully be a pair of hum-freeingle coil variation wired in modern wiring. The bridge "ash-tray" will be Vintage RSD Tele style. The body will be in my favourite Butterscotch Blonde (closer colour would be Nocaster Blonde), if not Graffiti Yellow colour, with nitrocellulose lacquer.

So that's about it, basically my dream guitar. Gonna own it one day. Hopefully it shall be built by Fender since I'm a full on Fender fan now. :) And that's it, I hope one day I will be able to make my dream guitar come true.

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
