ðŸ’ŧ MacBook Pro 2020

Music please!!! Jeng jeng jeng!!! Welcome to the new era of my music productions (and video productions)!!! Old gone is the laggy Acer laptop and new come is the latest piece of technology right now!!!

After one long year of hesitation, research and saving up, I finally jumped the gun on a MacBook Pro. This is by far the most important purchase in my musical journey, with the Line 6 Helix coming close behind. This device costed me $2837, but is worth every penny because of the amazing things I can achieve with it.

This computer arrived on Wednesday and I spent the past two days setting it up for today's use. With everything more or less configured to my taste, I started the one thing I've always wanted to do: Record all my instruments in one video!

To do that, I had to choose a song that is simple enough to be a starting point and yet fun enough to get me the experience I need. Lo and behold, a song with only 2 chords for its chorus. This is one super fun song that I am now using to test any guitar I can get my hands on. So many different ways to play this song!

For my lead guitar, I used the EC-1000 because of the punchy Seymour Duncan humbuckers. I actually wanted to do rhythm on it too, but for new times' sake, I went with the Telecaster for rhythm. Used WT's Brad's patch for both guitar, just in different pickup modes.

Most of y'all have never seen me play bass before. Well, that's because I didn't have a chance to, until today! I even have $30 worth of bass presets loaded in my Helix just for this day to arrive. And yes, I love playing bass guitar, only if the guitarist is good, which in this case is me!!!

And then here comes the awkward part. Wanted to add in the cajon because a video is better when split into 4 screens. But somehow I just can't get the timing right on the cajon and gave up after a crazy amount of takes. Went with the acoustic guitar instead as it does add a little something special to the song!

All in all, my timing was a little off at the start of the song, partly due to the excitement that couldn't be contained. Things got better as we progress through the song, climaxing at the bridge because it's my favourite part of the song! I could have added more parts, but well, this is still my first video!

That's it, my first step in the next race of my life! The future is bright now. I can do a lot more things with the gear I have right now. I am ready for more!

📖 Psalm 95:1-2

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
