As usual, here's the story. After putting the Prism onto v5.6, I finally achieved a great sound stacking both the OCD and Prism together. Sounds crazy sick. I tried with the Scarlett Love but that pedal insists to be played alone. The Scarlett Love sounds horrible when stacked so that led me to look elsewhere.
Also, I'm a bit of an OCD person and the Scarlett Love OD is a little oversized in it's space. It's protruding out at the bottom of the board, while at the same time pushing out the HX Stomp towards the top. This is one pedal where top mounted jacks are hardly welcomed at all.
I went around Google to look for horizontal pedals in small enclosures and found a few. Out of those few, I carefully siphoned out those with side mounted jacks and viola, 3 pedals caught my attention, the Teletronix Mulholland Drive, East River Audio Touch Distortion and the Zvex Box Of Rock.
The Mulholland and Touch Distortion are both not sold locally so I looked to the Box Of Rock. Almost making up my mind, I stumbled upon a few forum posts about the BOR's excessive low end and how that is the main issue with BOR. Then subsequent comments said the Zvex Distortron solved the low end issue with a 3-way toggle switch at the expense of a boost channel. Sounds exactly like what I need!
Swee Lee stocks Zvex effects pedals and I'm super stoked about it. Carousell turned up blank for pedals from this brand probably because they are less well known. I can only find one used Distortron that was on sale for eons already, while looking bad in condition. Taking that into account, I rushed to Swee Lee to purchase one brand new!
And it arrived to my doorstep today!! Talk about some spending spree. 2 new pedals in 3 days! With the Distortron replacing the Scarlett Love in v5.7, I can now re-route OCD to become my 2nd stage drive since I like my overdrives before distortions and the Distortron has the added low-end removal that the OCD doesn't.
Now the board looks neat and clean, bringing us officially to version 5.70!!! The Distortron was the perfect addition!!! Stacking it with Prism gives me an unparalleled lead tone, while stacking it with OCD gives me the unbeatable rhythm tone. The low-end removal is really really handy too!!! I shall make a post about my board's utility soon!
There is just one problem left to be resolved in v5.71. The side mounted jacks on a horizontal pedal did come with some limitations as well. Although it's good that I can now push back in the HX Stomp, my patch cables are not long enough to connect the output of Distortron to the guitar input of the Stomp. For the time being, I have to route the guitar signal using the Return Loop of the Stomp instead, missing out on the Stomp's auto impedance functionality.
I hurriedly ordered $80 worth of EBS patch cables from Sweetwater. $80 for 3 patch cables is crazy but living in Singapore means high shipping fees. Oh well, some things are just unavoidable. To compensate for this crazy spending spree, I have listed numerous gear on Carousell for sale.
Scarlett Love is definitely going up for sale because I have no use for it anymore. It should fetch a hefty price. Soul Food is going out too. So is my Line 6 Helix because I have plans for other stuff. As well as my EC-1000 because, well, plans again. There should be significant changes to my gear in the following months as I prepare for the next generation of my guitar journey!

*On 27th December 2021, this Zvex Distortron was faulty and was traded for a Boss OS-2, while I ordered another Zvex Distortron to replace the faulty one.
