Before I get into anything, here's a throwback to the last post that I featured pedalboards which starts with version number 4. I disassembled pedalboard version 4.3 a month later because it wasn't really what I expected. That was in 2019.
Today, it's 2022. And I'm finally back to restarting version 4. In the last few posts, I made a version 4.4 to simulate a pedal to the right of HX Stomp instead of the Line 6 G10 so I can further plan my remaining space on the left. Of course, this eventually leads me to today's version 4.5!!!
Presenting my latest invention: The Ultimate Flyrig!!! With the Vexpress passive volume pedal, the HX Stomp got pushed even more towards the right and I suddenly have enough space to even slap a piece of decoration just outside of the headphone jack! The volume pedal, on the other hand, does exactly what it needs to!
Previously, I scrapped the idea of ever continuing version 4 because the Line 6 G10 was producing too much noise, noise that was buzzing in sync with the tap tempo button light. Super annoying! I figured it was because the G10 was drawing power from the same powerbank and thus, the Stomp wasn't using pure isolated power.
The Vexpress volume pedal is critical due to its passiveness requiring no power at all. I'd rather use one extra 1/4 cable instead of a wireless relay if it means the rig is quiet. This simplifies things tremendously. Now there is literally silence when everything is off! Amazing!!!
Best thing of this flyrig is that it fits into my Mono Tick, which I still kept till this day! This means now I get to leave home with just one guitar bag and both hands free during travel! I definitely will utilise this rig in the near future as I start school and I start serving in church!
Prior to the previous post, I now have 3 overdrive pedals that are not in used. They will remain on display till I find a better use for them. They are cheap enough at this point to be used as art or background for photoshoots! Again, what a time to be alive!!!
With two HX Stomps, I never ever need to dismantle this flyrig, which means now I have two fully functioning pedalboards! What a crazy time to be alive! To be honest, this little flyrig sounds as good as my main board, if not better! The only reason I'm keeping my main board is because using my own drives frees up more space for complicated wet effects section!
I've got a feeling that I'll finally be fully utilising David Hislop's All-In patches and probably building my own variants of his presets! Not to mention trying out the ton of new IRs in my library right now! Well, it is what it is!
