Yay! It's guitar cover day again!!! Except that the "day" was actually 2 days ago, all because I needed a good amount of light to take some nice photos of the GTRS guitar to put as the video thumbnail.
Well, the daylight came and I finally caught some rather mesmerising pictures. The red sparkle of the guitar really shines in the light. I originally wanted to cover the song using the Magic Knob function, but the sound quality was rather trash compared to the HX Stomp.
So I used the stock pickup tones into the HX Stomp instead and got a useable tone. I also found out that in Logic Pro, enabling output back to headphones will cause the open B string to double-ring, creating the 12th fret frequency sound on the open fret. Actually rather annoying but can't be heard in the recording.
The song Our Hope Is Alive is a really nice song, and how humbling it was to know that the song came from a relatively unknown church, called Awaken Worship. I can't even find the chords online and had to learn and play by ear.
The lead riff is really catchy and I invented some palm mutes at the verses so I'm kept busy. That awkward pause at the last chorus was on point!!! I love it when small churches does that because it shows that they are creative!!!
Only kicked on the Distortron running into David Hislop's All-In patch, with a tint of dotted 8th delay. The bridge pickup of the GTRS really rocks!!! All in all, it was a rather nice experience but if given the choice, I would still pick up my main guitars. The sound of my Edcaster is unbeatable.
