So it's been a few months since I recorded a guitar cover. I'm not sure why. I just didn't have the mood after deciding to quit ILC band after two practice sessions with them. I'm not sure if I can fit into any band right now so I decided to take a break from serving as an electric guitarist indefinitely.
Today was feeling a little moody too. Just met with another motorcycle accident 2 days ago that left me in quite the rut. Rammed into somebody's car and fell, the day after I had a big fight with a church leader due to misaligned interests.
Was introspecting and listening to a lot of Christian music lately because I felt that I was far from God. This song, Solution, have one of the most interesting set of lyrics I have ever seen in a Christian song. I relate to it so much that I decided to cover it today.
I have previously done a cover of it, twice even, but that was at the start of my SAF life. Today I'm out of that SAF life so it seems fitting enough. As I have only one guitar left, I ran it through my HX Stomp pedalboard for this song.
Today I didn't stack both drives throughout the entire song. Decided to give the high gain part of the Distortron a shot. Only used my OCD-Ge as more of a lead boost in both solos. Wow. I'm awed and amazed at the range of the Distortron. It could be my only drive pedal!! But of course I love the OCD-Ge too much!!!
I used David Hislop's Benson Chimera patch today. Sounds sweeter than his AC30 patch. This could be my default patch for months to come. Added in bigger reverbs and I really love my sound now. Now I cannot live without the Glitz reverb in the HX Stomp. Contemplated between dotted 8th and quarter delay for Solution, but went with quarter for the spacier sounds.
Solution is a super fun song. High energy, blasting loud riffs. Simply amazing!!!
Well, to maximise this post, here's a little update to what's been happening recently. Sold off the Boss OS-2 because after quitting the SAF, I need all the money I can save. The pedals that are sitting on the display has to go.
I'm due to start university in a few more weeks so I'm doing everything I can to live with a minimal rig. Shall dedicate the next post to this big sale of stuff, from the EC-1000 to hopefully the Morningstar MC8!
