🎬 Guitar Cover

Here comes the mandatory guitar cover whenever a new guitar enters the arsenal! Why did it take so long? Life. Hosanna was a great song choice to restart my journey. Classic switching between clean and lead tones really brings out the range in my brand new Les Paul.

Used the Line 6 Helix Floor for this cover because I'm kinda lazy. Also, some of my skills have been lost to the passage of time but at least my timing is improving. Hope I can do more covers this year!

After this, I'm sending my Gibson to SWAT Customs for a full re-fret to stainless steel. I cannot stand such a nice guitar having such a stupid fret material that oxidises instantly in Singapore weather. SWAT Customs is quoting $540 for the re-fret service, inclusive of a full setup.

Once my Gibson is fitted with stainless steel frets, it will be a guitar I'll be keeping for quite a while, seeing as many of my past guitars were sold simply because they do not have stainless steel frets. My only stainless steel fretted guitar was the personal Thinline Telecaster, which was sold for other faults.

Also, a huge change is coming again. The reason why I totally didn't touch the Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster since last May is simply because it is super unplayable. Like $500 is cheap I know, and the $90 locking tuners works wonders.

But the action is too high and the frets are also not stainless steel. I cannot justify sending the guitar in for a full re-fret when the re-fret service itself costs as much as the price of the guitar. At least when I send in the Gibson, the re-fret is just a fraction of the guitar's worth.

So with that in mind, I'm planning to offload this Squier Stratocaster and make another trip to Tokyo to fetch myself a legit quality Stratocaster instead, one that I can justify sending to SWAT Customs as well. And that will be some time in April 2025. Really excited!!!
