🎡 Paul Cochrane Timmy Overdrive

Oh how I love distortions and overdrives. All 3 of my current dirt pedals are super popular (TS9, OCD and Soul Food), all considered the legendary pedals. Today, I hold in my hands another legendary pedal, the Paul Cochrane Timmy Overdrive pedal.

Bought on 4th November 2017 off a nice Christian guy from Carousell for $170. The high price is justified by the fact that this Timmy is not in dark blue, but in gold, limited edition gold.

I have long seen rave reviews on the web during my hunt for great dirt pedals. I ended up with a TS9 first, then an OCD and then a Soul Food. Since my board couldn't fit much more, I stopped at 3......until I started working and earning money. I couldn't resist this gold pedal when I saw it on Carousell. And so I bought it.

The Timmy is one of the most famous transparent drive pedal out there. The treble and bass knobs are actually frequency cuts, which means that at "0" position, there's a full essence of that sound. At max position, all bass or treble is removed. Cool! Then there's the toggle switch that switches between symmetrical clipping and asymmetrical clipping, used for smooth stacking with other dirt pedals.

As my pedalboard business is still in a mess now, I cannot test this pedal yet. So unfortunately I cannot comment on the sound. I am prepared to swipe off a Suhr Riot Reloaded from Carousell if I see one, and then my conquest for dirt pedals is complete. With so many extra pedals, I might just get a Pedaltrain Nano for my "test board"!

I can't wait for field camp to be over and head home to continue my guitaring!
