ðŸŽļ Should I Save My Strat?

I should have known this day is coming, but I still did nothing. And when I tried to do something about it today, the tip of the pot broke off. Now my tone knob cap is lying around and my Stratocaster looks pretty ugly without it.

The question is, should I get it to a shop to have it fixed? Because this is beyond my capabilities and I'm done trusting random Carousellers. Here I am so ready to sell off my Stratocaster to get a good humbucking guitar in its place. But time and time again my instincts tell me to keep this guitar.

If I'm getting the tone knob fixed, then I'm getting my fretboard cleaned as well. Frets are becoming dirty as of late and it's pissing me off, although technically it can't be seen by the audience. It's just a personal preference which is why I got stainless steel frets for my Telecaster.

I still remember getting this guitar at $1500 which is a really good price for a top of the line USA Fender guitar. The new Elite series which directly replaced this Deluxe series costs about $2899 brand new at Swee Lee. That's close to double the value of what I own, which is insane.

Everything else about this Fender Deluxe Stratocaster is in tip top condition. Only the tone knob and frets have issues. So, should I save this guitar? Or just sell it off at a lower price to get a new guitar?

***Update as of 25th December 2018: Guess I chose to sell the guitar off. Time for a new guitar! :)

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
