🎎 Revisited: Dance

It's been a hectic start to 2019 being in the 1st Logistics Specialist Commander Course. All my weekends were packed to the brim and I just had no time to sit down and properly jam on my guitar. Alas, the course is coming to an end and I finally found some time to record a cover!

This song was once the most played song in my playlist for an ENTIRE year. I remember blasting this song on and on during my Polytechnic days and even got one of my non-Christian friend hooked. I was just so amazed that modern worship has evolved so much since a decade ago.

Classic electric keyboard riffs can be heard throughout the song. Electric guitars are simply the secondary instruments here. Nonetheless, they still pack a punch and is the drive of the song. Planetshakers are the best!!!

I used my long lost PRS guitar for this cover to utilise it's thick humbucking leads. As for the Helix, I used an overdriven Marshall kind of sound. Very thick and creamy and matches the PRS pretty well. As heard from the final outro, the leading riff contains so much sustain!!!

This is a rather easy song to play as there isn't much going on. However, I still manage to screw up by getting too engrossed in the song and not on my playing. Missed the beat twice. Hahaha. Still sounded nice to my ears and rather acceptable after such a long time of not playing! How does this compare to the version I recorded more than 2 years ago?

If this isn't the most beautiful picture I've seen since 2019 started, I don't really know what is...

📖 Psalm 95:1-2

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
