During Christmas season last year, I chanced upon an excellent product called the Blackstar Fly 3 amplifier. I was due to play in an impromptu band for Christmas in camp and the other guitarist so happened to bring a Fly 3 in. When I heard how clean and powerful it sounded, I was blown away.
Compared to the Orange Micro Crush which I owned before, the Blackstar Fly 3 is miles ahead. Capable of running both mono and stereo via an extension cabinet, with inputs for external MP3, and option of running via battery or power cable, this mini amplifier is one powerful beast.
So today, as I was busy visiting relatives in this Chinese New Year season, I happened to scroll through Carousell and saw this one guy selling both the amp and the extension cab for $100. I bargained the price to $80 and he agreed. Just nice my final visiting destination is around Sengkang and so is his house. Done deal.
The item is in great condition, except for the metal parts which oxidised, indicating that the item is actually quite old. That doesn't bother me though; what matters is its usability. I quickly wired it up and tested it. I am very happy with the stereo sounds I am hearing.
All in all, the sound quality definitely loses to my Yamaha THR10C, but the portability defeats it hands down. The Blackstar Fly 3 makes an excellent display item too!

***Update as of 23rd January 2020: The Blackstar Fly 3 is no longer with me. It has been sold for $90.
