ðŸŽĩ New Year, New Plans

Chinese New Year is round the corner and in this festive season, I have made some pretty interesting decisions regarding my humble little guitar collection. I have sold off a few things, going to sell off a few things, and I'm gonna buy a few things.

First and foremost, I'm (again) getting rid of useless items in my inventory. The number one thing that comes to my mind is the stereo Blackstar Fly 3 amplifiers. Ever since I found out that I can connect the Helix or HX Stomp to my JBL Charge 3, I never ever bothered with the Fly 3.

They just sat around under my guitars on display most of the time. I only remember playing with them on the first week I bought them. They look super cool as display items that's why I kept them for so long. Now that I need all the space I can get, the amplifiers had to go.

Next up, let me recall the sale of my Gibson Les Paul. It was one of my most heavy-hearted decision ever because I love it so so much and there was nothing wrong with it. The one and only reason I had to sell it is because the EC-1000 is now my number one guitar, and it covers everything a Les Paul can do.

Truth to be told, I'm surely gonna get another Gibson Les Paul in the future. I'm gonna get the vintage sunburst one if fate is good to me. For now, my EC-1000 will be my most loved guitar. I'm gonna bring it to places I've never even been to myself.

Finally, the last sale actually belongs to my dad. After a long decade with this guitar, he says it's finally time for it to go. The strings snapped and he made the decision to not change it anymore. After all, I have my own Yamaha as well and my brother is already using it too. So there goes the old guitar...

Meanwhile, I only have one piece of gear up for sale. And it's a very controversial piece of gear. I spent half my life dreaming about this guitar and the other half assembling it. I still haven't decided if I really want to sell it so I'm just putting it up on Carousell with no real commitment. I still love it a lot but the resale price always gets to my head.

First guitar I would buy if I ever sell my Edcaster is the Fender Vintera '50s Modified Telecaster. It's time to stick back to the famous vintage Telecaster and forget about weight issues because clearly weight isn't a problem for me anymore.

Then I will get more pedals to assemble my future Metro 16 pedalboard. Recently played acoustic guitar on the same stage with another electric guitarist and his board reminded me of the good times I had with my own board. Probably will house my own board with purely effects on the Metro 16 and use the Nano as an amp/cab extension.

We shall see what 2020 has to offer.

📖 Psalm 95:1-2

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
