Just recently had this crazy idea of becoming a pedal collector. I don't really know why, but I get so pumped up when I see a new overdrive or distortion pedal pop up online. It has always been my thing with dirt pedals and I think I might just become a collector in the future.
I have with me a few pedals on the hit-list already. Let's just see how far I can go with this. This list is in order of the most wanted being up top!!!
| Fulltone OCD-Ge |
Not gonna lie, I was pretty stumped when Fulltone told me they don't ship to Singapore. I get it. I'll just wait for some other guy to get tired of his one and put it up on sale on Reverb. The Fulltone OCD has been one of my favourites so far and it's only right to put it first in my hit-list.
| Alexander Pedals Defender Stargate Drive |
Next up is this crazy pedal. It's by foundation an overdrive pedal. But it does so much more. Octave up/down, pitch shifting and whatnot, all it can do. I have seen the video demos of it and my goodness, this is sure to be a collectable pedal for real.
| Snake Oil Marvellous Engine |
Rob Chapman went from guitar builder to pedal builder. And he's come up with this awesome looking pedal. Seriously this is one wicked artwork. Couldn't care less for the tone or sound, the artwork is enough to get me on the hype train.
| Earthquaker Devices Plumes |
Recently released in 2019. this is a TS-styled pedal with a little twist. There are multiple clipping options and it is really really cheap. Never had experiences with Earthquaker Devices but it sure seems they have been putting out solid pedals. The cheap price factor placed it so high up in my hit-list.
| Timmy Overdrive Gold |
This is one pedal I really really regret selling. I had it on all the time when it was with me. The Timmy overdrive is a really well-made pedal and it being in gold colour is just WOW! Really really hope to own one again.
| Suhr Riot Reloaded |
I still haven't forgotten my quest for this pedal, and I never will. My short time with the original riot tells me the Reloaded is worth every shot I have. Slick purple finish too!
| JHS Bonsai |
Never really been a fan of JHS pedals since they are basically copying circuits from well-known pedal makers. Well, until they came up with this 9-way Tubescreamer. Dang, can anything else be any more versatile? Versatility is my thing, which makes the Bonsai my thing.
| Keeley El Rey Dorado |
I believe El Rey Dorado means Golden King in some abstract language. Well, firstly, it's gold. Then, there's sick art on the pedal. Definitely checks two of my fetishes for any guitar pedal. Saw on YouTube that it's rather popular too!
| Blackbox Overdrive 2 |
Have been seeing this one repeatedly pop up on Instagram lately. Couldn't help it. Turns out to be a rather awesome overdrive pedal that has managed to make it into my hit-list!
| Abasi Pathos Overdrive |
This one apparently won the dirt pedal shootout on Andertons Youtube video. Definitely have Wampler's style in the pedal. Looks cool enough to be on my list!
| Loophole Pedals Grey Matter |
Now, this is one interesting dirt pedal. Two distinct colours control two different drives, which can be stacked together. This is the only pedal that the company offers so it must be pretty damn awesome for it to be the only pedal they ever make.
| Tsakalis Audioworks Six |
This pedal is here for it's versatility. 6 different modes of dirt in this pedal. Plus points for being golden! Too bad it's a rather expensive pedal. Still keeping it on my list with fingers crossed!
| Animals Pedal Vintage Van Driving is very Fun |
Oh yeah, cute pedal with a really weird long-ass name, definitely raising some eyebrows. Built by a Japanese company, this pedal comes in real cheap and it really seems to be a fun pedal. If I have the chance to buy it, I definitely will.
| Horizon Precision Drive |
Really cool colour scheme on this one. Made by MXR jointly, this metal pedal is hitting the right nerves. Also one of the more expensive ones so I'll just take my chances.
| Friedman BE-OD |
Yeah, another metal pedal. This pedal constantly pops up uninvited so here it is. A rather classic pedal in my opinion.
| EHX Crayon 69 |
Really cool pedal from EHX. Lesser known compared to the Soul Food but boasts an amazing full-range overdrive sound. Cheaper compared to many other pedals in this list so this one's a must-have!
| Foxgear Fenix Distortion |
Well, this company took a little innovation and added it to the pedal. It lights up all around when power is supplied to the pedals. Very cool looking when used on dark stages. That alone already got me interested!
| Friday Club El Cardinale |
Another El pedal, another weird company name. Oh wells, weird enough to make it into my list. Interesting concept with this pedal and as interesting is the number of followers this pedal has!
| Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 |
At this point it doesn't even matter how much I want this pedal, but why this pedal. Well, Walrus Audio definitely makes some very cool time-based effects. No one really cares about their drives. For one, this drive looks rather sick so I'll keep an eye out for it!
| Mythos Herculean V2 |
Another white pedal! Sick looking art on this one. The fact that it's a version 2 meant that it was popular enough for the company to continue upgrading it. Thus, it makes its way onto my list!
| Wampler Pantheon Overdrive |
I don't even know why I selected this one. Wampler makes good stuff, but that's all it really does. Perhaps I just want a pedal from every brand possible?
| Mad Professor Royal Blue Overdrive |
Yeap, now this confirms my case, I literally just want a pedal from every brand. Nonetheless, I've heard good things about the Royal Blue Overdrive so here it is!
| VFE Dragon Dynamic Overdrive |
Cool art again. This one comes in a different colour every now and then so it's quite interesting to me! Collector's item!!!
| Doc Lloyd Grit 'N' Girth |
Wahhhhh what a unique pedal! Definitely on par with the Defender Stargate pedal. But I don't really know what it does so it's right here at the bottom. Definitely cool though!
| Chellee Sir Robin |
This pedal is surprisingly cheap for a hand-made pedal in the USA. Never heard of the brand name nor the pedal itself so I'm putting it here for future reference.
| Blackstar LT Distortion |
Blackstar creates better amps than pedals. But still, one cannot help but wonder how great their pedals sound. So it would be interesting to get my hands on one.
| Mesa Boogie Flux Drive |
One look and I know this is a high gain pedal. Like the Blackstar pedal, this one surely came from an amp. Cool design. Hit or miss.
| Boss Waza Craft MT-2W |
Since I'm talking metal, there's no metal without the Metal Zone from Boss. Upgraded with some magic from the Waza Craft series, this pedal is definitely special.
| J Rockett Archer Ikon |
Not a fan of klones but this one hits it because of the golden colour. Also can do a little high gain so it's probably not that bad...
| Vemuram Jan Ray |
Last on the list is a close-to-impossible to obtain pedal. Well sought after with similar hunters like the original Klon. I have heard how great it sounds but I just don't wanna join in the firefight for this pedal.
There, there. What a long list.
