🐍 Snake Oil

Ironically, after selling a few gear, I acquired new ones. Just after I posted last week, I came to remember the great joys of purchasing new gear and building new rigs. Chanced upon Andertons selling both their Snake Oil Fine Instruments pedals for a heavily discounted price of £107.50 each and I knew I couldn't just pass it up.

Presenting the world's most visually attractive pair of guitar pedals. The Very Thing and Marvellous Engine are some of the best guitar pedals I have ever seen in my life, definitely comparable to my pair of Custom Shop OCDs.

I have known of their presence for quite a while, but the European prices threw me off greatly. Because of that too, not many people are willing to go through the hassle and thus not many people have it on their board. I'm beginning to become a pedal collector myself so I naturally would gravitate towards attractive pairs of pedals.

But these are just more than eyegasms. Like my pair of dual OCDs, these two bring more to the table than just looks. Marvellous Engine gravitates towards a heavier distortion effect while The Very Thing is built for boosting and overdrive effects. In my opinion, that is exactly the complements my dual OCDs need.

With some hesitation and research, I snagged them for just over SGD400. Surprisingly, these two actually costs lesser than the two Fulltone OCDs together. Wow! That makes all 4 of my boutique dirt pedals worth a little less than $1000, pretty expensive for just 4 pedals!!!

Seriously, this looks so so cool!!! I honestly cannot wait for the time to place them onto an actual pedalboard to use on performances. I can already dream of the heavenly tones I can create with these pedals.

Simply amazing!!! I can also say that very few people in the world have as unique a selection of drives as mine right here! Clean boost, dual overdrives and a distortion pedal, all checked. How can my Helix ever compare to these 4?

Talking about Helix though, there's a really strong desire to just build a pedalboard with these 4 and my HX Stomp just because I can. And eventually, there might even be no need for the full Helix Floor anymore. What a dilemma and what a time to be alive!!!
