🎎 Egypt

So I have been procrastinating on this song for months because of it's fingerstyle verse lick. I don't really like playing fingerstyle because of the probability of missing one note (which I did so multiple times today). To my ears, those missed notes sound very obvious upon playback.

But alas, I find myself taking leave today due to work stress so what better way to spend the day than to record a guitar cover? Chose to record Egypt today, finally!

Song is one of the toughest, I don't know why. The tightness of the song is on a whole other level, probably can match Phil Wickham's songs. Iconic verse line ringing throughout the 2 verses, but also not forgetting the nice lead line foreshadowing the fingerstyle.

Effects are simple. Quarter delay throughout the song. Lead guitar uses soft Soul Food overdrive for the verses and added Fulltone OCD for the chorus and bridge. Rhythm guitar uses heavier overdrive from the Soul Food alone. Wanted to add bass also but 3 screens ain't ideal.

Weeeeee happy National Day!!!

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
