I can blame a lot of things in my life. But then again, my life changed a lot after entering university and taking on this internship. My guitar journey wasn't the only affected area of my life, I even sold off my beloved motorbike and cut down on bouldering tremendously. I began exercising way more, to the point of running almost everyday. This lifestyle shift might be more than just temporary.
Few days ago, somebody reached out to me on Carousell wanting to buy my Jethro Thinline Telecaster. I wasn't even trying to sell it; he just found me from Jethro Guitar's Carousell reviews. I took it as a sign and let the guitar go.
To be honest, the Jethro is one hell of a guitar. My love for Thinline Telecasters propelled me to buy that guitar, even though I hate humbuckers on a non-LesPaul and I hate Bigsby even more. The Bigsby is really one mega headache; instability in tuning and difficulty in guitar maintenance.
Recently, I even had serious thoughts about selling the pedalboard and switching back to the Line 6 Helix. There might be a possible future where I move out of Singapore to work overseas and I want as little physical baggage as possible. Owning gear that can be repurchased anywhere in the world sounds like a solid plan.
Of course, nothing is confirmed so I don't wanna make tough decisions just yet. With this $535 I made from selling the Jethro Thinline, I proceeded to order this brand new product from Fender, the Mustang Micro Plus.
Previously at Swee Lee Clarke Quay, I got to try out the original Mustang Micro and was genuinely surprised at how great it sounded for such a small device. Been setting my sights on it ever since but I didn't wanna buy a device that has already been out for a few years. So when they released a new version 2 weeks ago, I knew I'm buying it.
Let's just hope I don't completely abandon this hobby because I still love jamming to random music from time to time. Or maybe my upcoming Japan trip will change that? If I see my exact same Butterscotch Thinline Telecaster in Tokyo, I might just buy it back!
