| Line 6 Helix Floor May 2018 - January 2022 |
My life was changed from that point onwards. I sold away everything else and just used the Helix Floor from 2018 to 2021. In early 2021, I moved back to analog pedals revolving around the HX Stomp as the brain of the board. That was when I realised I do not need the Helix anymore.
I'm a plug-and-play kind of guitarist. I usually do not like to switch effects too many times per song, or even per set. The only time I went deeper with Helix is if I'm messing around at home. That is why I justified moving back to analog since I knew exactly the sounds I wanted after learning via the Helix Floor.
I bought the Helix Floor for $2000, and sold it away today for $1250. The loss of $750 over 4 years worth of fun is absolutely worth it. I'm still keeping all the presets and IRs that I've purchased over the years. When the Helix Native is fully compatible with my M1 Pro MacBook, I'll be using those purchases again!
(As of February 2022, Helix Native is fully compatible with M1 Pro!)
With weight a main concern, I'm exploring smaller and smaller rigs recently. I might just use the money I got from this sale to try the new Hotone Ampero Stomp that was just released. Actually I wanted a 2nd HX Stomp as backup, but since there's a strong competitor, why not?
More research is needed for that. But until then, let this post be a wonderful reminisce of this awesome Line 6 Helix Floor!
