🎡 Pedalboard Evolution

No, I didn't arrive at this board in a blink of an eye. This is 2 years worth of research, buying, selling, trading and fantasizing. Since the end of this year is coming, let me recap the vast changes my pedalboard has gone through for the past 2 years.

My board started as a mere draft on pedalboardplanner.com. I just wanted basic pedals that can get the job done. The "Stone Age" begins.
These 4 pedals are my very first guitar pedals. I was so ecstatic when I obtained them.
Soon after, my drafting plans changes to accommodate more pedals.
Then the Line 6 M5, Ibanez TS9 and Crybaby Wah came onboard. I had experiences with Line 6 M13 so the M5 was no stranger.
Next, the MXR Smart Gate was added because my rig was getting quite noisy. I thought a noise gate could help.
Added a Ditto Looper to spice things up in my life. Placed it at a very awkward position at the end of my chain.
The first of my indispensable pedals arrived: The TC Hall of Fame. The RV-5 just couldn't make the cut for me.
Added the MXR Carbon Copy because the web is crazy about this pedal. The board is getting quite full at this point that I have to rearrange some stuff.
My first sale saw the Boss DD-3 disappear and got replaced by a Corona Chorus. I now get my delay mainly from M5. This marks the end of my "Stone Age".
Then it was Boss CS-3's turn to get replaced by my first boutique pedal: The SP Compressor. Another indispensable pedal added at this point. "Bronze Age" begins.
At this point in time I was pretty much satisfied. The Mono M80 case came onboard so I had to shift the M5 to the bottom rungs.
Another planning was needed to see what my future looks like. Looks pretty okay to me at this point.
A Boss DD-5 was added, a Volume pedal was added, the Line 6 M5 was kicked off and the Wah has been resized. World War 1 version of my pedalboard.
The addition of the Tap Tempo pedal and TC Polytune 2 marks the end of the "Bronze Age".
The "Silver Age" began when I got extra pedals due to the addition of a Nano Big Muff Pi. I was exploring heavier drives beyond my Boss OS-2.
Rearrangement again because I changed to custom cabling and the board looks neater now.
The Fulltone OCD finally replaced my Boss OS-2. This was the happiest point in my life.
The Muff was too fuzzy to me and I got it replaced with a pedal from the same brand: The EHX Soul Food.
The "Silver Age" ended when the Nano POG came onboard. The Corona was useless to me so off it went.
Finally here comes the "Golden Age". My first big spend saw the Strymon Timeline came onboard. It was at this point where everything went boutique. The Wah and DD-5 disappeared.
I figured that there are pedals I'm just not using and a downsize would be beneficial. A draft board was produced. Things look great here.
A Timmy Overdrive pedal replaced the Soul Food and the HoF got upgraded to its version 2 counterpart. Managed to squeeze in another pedal by moving the SP Comp up. The "Golden Age" is looking good!!!

The Suhr Riot kicked off the TC Polytune because my need for dirt pedals is still so crazy. With this setup, I can go from super clean to blasting leads. What a range!

And there you have it. I have arrived at my latest pedalboard again. It wasn't an easy journey considering pedals are just so crazy expensive. But I'm thankful for the many chances to try out different pedals and finally settling down on what I really need. I dare not say this pedalboard will stay this way forever, but I dare say that most of these pedals are staying for good.

πŸ“– Psalm 95:1-2

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
