ðŸŽļ The Gibson Les Paul

I don't even know how to start. My music journey have just reached a pinnacle with the purchase of this Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar yesterday night. I didn't really have a good history with Les Pauls because of their huge necks and heavy bodies, but this particular one defied those odds.

This, is my Gibson Les Paul.

With modern weight relief and an asymmetrical SlimTaper '60s neck, this guitar is just perfect for my needs. The Gibson Studio I used to have had a really fat '50s neck while the Epiphone Tribute I had was rather heavy. This model comes with push/pull on all 4 knobs (which interests me a lot), namely providing split-coils, phase reverse and pure bridge bypass with a click of a knob.

I've always wanted either a Heritage Cherry Sunburst or a Vintage Sunburst Les Paul. I've never wanted anything else until I came across this colour called Tea Burst, which is ironically the combination (or in between) of both my favourite colours. The AAAA premium flametop really stands out under the natural light and it looks really really good.

It comes with modern metal tuners and even the locking function, which is what I have in all my other guitars. Sick open book headstock that has been dominating the industry for years. Fretboard bindings have aged pretty well considering this is a 2013 model, giving it the awesome cream look. Best of all is this guitar have a rosewood fretboard that isn't affected by all the recent wood laws. :)

Seller was the first owner of the guitar and this makes me the second! He bought the guitar fresh out of the market and during the old times when Swee Lee and BGW guitars are in the midst of merging (not too sure about their history). He kept the guitar in really great condition ever since and only went for a few gigs with it.

The case is a pretty standard Gibson case but the interior has aged too. A little bit of dust here and there but pretty much does the job well. Went to Hougang yesterday night to meet seller by the username of "alkayel" to test the guitar. Paid $2300 and left being a happy guitarist!

Time for some guitar porn!!!

Just check that flame out with the correct photo filter!

The classic guitars...
Now then, time to play! Got a set coming this weekend and there is no better timing than to use this Gibson on stage! Woohoo!!! Been out of touch with my guitars for quite awhile now so it's gonna be one pretty awesome weekend!

As of 8th January 2020, the Gibson Les Paul is no longer with me. It has been sold for $2250. Sad to see it go, really, but the future is still shining bright.

O come, let us sing unto the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation! Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.
