Looks fantastic at first glance. I'm so glad I chose brass saddles because they really match the Butterscotch Blonde body. He left me the honour of peeling off the plastic on the pickguard too!
Got these pictures only 2 days after I dropped off the parts at his house. Amazing!!! Fast worker he is...
Yes I love Fender's locking tuners and wouldn't choose any other brands for this sole purpose. Looks good from the front and feels good from the rear.
Finally, the headstock. This is the only part that makes me quite mad. He claims that the decal was of poor quality but it is the first option that came up on eBay. Couldn't be that bad. But it still tore upon application. Well at least he tried to align it properly because I can only imagine how tough it is to slide the decal when wet.
And because of the "better" string tree placement, my decal was the wrong fit for the headstock. I wanted vintage 1952 styled headstock, but he claimed that a better break angle for this modern string tree is at the A string machine head position. Hence, the "d" of the word "Fender" was clipped by the G string tuner post. I will be changing the decal to the modern Fender spaghetti decal the next time I change strings:
But I couldn't complain, because his services fit my budget perfectly. His total cost even includes setup! And looks like he can even complete it by this weekend! I seriously can't wait any longer...
Meanwhile, something else should be coming along this weekend... Mmmhmm....
