Indeed, my parcel is already in transit halfway around the world. I have received an email a few days ago stating that Warmoth has already shipped my order. I am so happy that the guitar could possibly be assembled just in time for my 21st birthday!
I have also began searching for the lucky guy who gets to assemble my guitar for me because I have zero confidence in myself for this job. I am really excited for this guitar to arrive and I am also very looking forward to all the upgrades I will do to this guitar in the future!
Meanwhile, I ordered one last part on eBay. It is the compensated brass saddles. I can't get over the fact that I ordered a traditional Telecaster bridge but it comes with normal steel saddles. To me, I would prefer modern saddles but for the classy look I went with vintage saddles.
Read a lot of online comments saying how compensated saddles improve intonation. And since I'm going for a vintage look, steel wouldn't look nice anyway. So I got 3 brass ones from eBay from an unknown seller. Heck, if the saddles work I wouldn't care much where it came from or was made in.
On impulse, I actually bought 60 celluloid guitar picks from the same seller. All picks are in 0.46mm thickness, my favourite thickness for both electric and acoustic. This thickness gives me the fluidity I need and I now never have to worry about not having picks around me. Each pick ended up costing about $0.10 per piece. Wow!
Now I just have to wait for the Warmoth guitar parts to arrive and I can begin my dream!
